The latest Economic Survey 2024-25 shows that 24.8 crore students are learning in about 14.72 lakh schools with the help of almost 98 lakh teachers. That's a lot of people working hard to shape the future. Government vs. Private Schools Government schools make up a big part – 69% – of the total number of schools. They educate around 50% of all students and employ 51% of the teachers. Private schools, on the other hand, account for 22.5% of schools, educating 32.6% of students, and employing 38% of teachers.
